suvetuz

The artist standing in profile against a white cyclorama, chin raised and hands clasped behind her in a long grey dress and a black cap, among four of her stainless steel lamp totems — a tall leaning stack of blackened tapering blocks carrying a wide shade above her, and three shorter polished ones at her feet

Suvetuz creates narrative functional sculptures by combining precise stainless steel and wood construction with unaltered fragments of Planet Earth. Through a cast of made-up characters, Suvetuz observes human actions, emotions, bodies and the rhythms of domestic life.

Gestures, postures and moments of intimacy are slowed down, isolated and reconstructed as geometric scenes. These scenes become small archives of earthly experience, where observation turns into form and a captured moment is held as a stage.

Natural fragments and collected materials are placed within layered structures, allowing memory, imagination and subjective interpretation to enter an earthly experience seen from above. The designs carry natural elements, moments of discovery, and a thin layer of soul, captured in the act of enjoying the planet Earth.
